Padlock showing on some of the content
Are You Using a VPN?
If you are connected to a VPN, Shudder may detect a different country than where your subscription was created. This can cause titles to appear locked or unavailable.
To resolve this:
Disable your VPN.
Restart the Shudder app or refresh the page.
Sign back in to your account.
Once your correct region is detected, the appropriate catalog for your subscription should appear.
⚙️ Note: Our technical team is currently working on improvements to prevent titles that are unavailable in your region from appearing as locked in the catalog.
Please Do Not Create a Second Subscription
Some customers try to unlock titles by creating a new subscription while connected to a VPN in another country.
This can lead to:
Multiple active subscriptions
Billing confusion
Access issues when the VPN is disabled
If you believe content should be available with your subscription, please contact our support team instead of purchasing another subscription.
What if I see locks on everything?
If you see locks on all titles, you may have been signed out and need to sign in again to access Shudder's content. If the issue persists, confirm that you're using the correct email address tied to your active subscription. You may have accidentally signed in with an old, inactive account.
